Salmon Patties Recipe / Keto and Gluten Free Friendly

These salmon patties here are keto and gluten friendly! Full of flavor and delicious indeed. I used to make them differently (breadcrumbs or crackers) before the changes in our diet. This is the first time making these patties with almond flour and I'd say they turned our pretty darn well! Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 pound fresh salmon (canned works too)
  • 1 medium onion - chopped
  • 2 to 3 cloves of garlic - chopped
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayo
  • 1 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dill
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic Salt for Salmon

Dipping Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • Hotsauce is optional

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. While oven preheats, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place salmon skin side down. Take a bit of olive oil and spread on the top side of salmon. Sprinkle on some garlic salt and then place salmon in oven for about 10 to 15 minutes or until fully cooked. When salmon has fully cooked, remove from the oven and set aside to cool.

In a large pan, add some olive oil and about 1 tablespoon of butter. Once butter has melted, toss in onions and garlic and cook until onions have caramelized. While onions are cooking or after they are done, take the salmon and break it apart into a large mixing bowl. Shred salmon until the flakes have broken down and shrunk in size. Now time to add everything to the bowl. Add the onion/garlic mixture you cooked, old bay seasoning, dill, worcestershire sauce, mayo, eggs and some salt. Mix until combined. Next, add in the almond flour and mix until completely combined.

In the same large pan, add 1 tablespoon of butter and allow it to melt. Take your salmon mixture and form patties. The bigger the patties, the longer it will take to cook. Cook patties for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Patties may sometimes break, but that's fine. After they have browned, remove and place on a plate lined with paper towel. Cook the rest of patties and add butter as needed.

If you want the sauce, just combine all the needed ingredients for it. Take those delicious patties you just made, dip it in the sauce and whabam! Dinner has been enhanced and it's stupendous!
