Spaghetti with spaghetti squash recipe


Ingredients:
  • Spaghetti Squash (grab what you need)
  • 1 to 2 pounds ground meat (no preference, just use what you have or prefer)
  • Pasta sauce (any brand you like)
  • 2 cans of crushed tomatoes
  • Canned or fresh mushrooms, chopped
  • Jarred or fresh garlic (1 tablespoon jarred or 2 to 3 cloves fresh, minced)
  • Dehydrated or fresh onions (2 tablespoons dehydrated or half a fresh onion, chopped)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tablepoon tarragon
  • A pinch of sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit or 218 degrees Celsius. As that preheats, it's time to prep the squash. To make cutting a breeze, throw the squash in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes. This helps make the cutting process easier since the shell is tough to cut into. Once you've got the Squash cut in half and seeds are cleaned out, lather on some oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and place on a cookie sheet (inner part of the squash facing up). This will need to cook for about 30 to 45 minutes.
  2. While that's cooking, place a large pan or pot on medium to high heat and add some oil. Saute garlic and onion. Add meat and let that cook until meat it no longer pink. Drain any excess grease that has been produced from meat when cooking. 
  3. Add is your sauce, canned tomatoes, all seasoning and stir it all together. Turn the heat down to low to prevent sauce from erupting and getting all over the place. Stir as needed. Give the sauce a taste to see if you need to make any adjustments. From here, sauce should be done and it's time to check the squash.
  4. Take a fork to the squash. If the fork goes through easy and the the squash begins to separate inside, then it's cooked and ready to be pulled out. Take a fork and seperate the squash from the shell. You can serve your meal in the shell of the squash or in your favorite bowl or on a plate. Whatever you choose! Sprinkle on some parmesan cheese and you have yourself a delicious dinner without the carbs.
